Sharing robotics.
Making it accessible.
We take what we learn on our FTC team and turn it into opportunities for younger students to try engineering firsthand.
IntelliKits at Lakeside.
One event. A robot demonstration, a programming activity, and a chance to make something by hand.
From watching a robot to building something of their own.
On October 16, we visited the Lakeside Apartments community center in Concord to host a STEM event for children in the youth program.
We introduced our FTC competition robot and talked about the design and programming behind it. Then we invited the kids to try our IntelliKits activities, including a hands-on model-car project.
IntelliKits is what we call our accessible, build-it-yourself engineering activities. Lakeside was one of the ways we brought those kits directly to students, not a separate outreach project.
We want to help make robotics and engineering more accessible for children in underserved communities, where extracurricular STEM opportunities and equipment can be harder to find.

Make it. Test it. Learn from it.
We want kids to do more than watch a demonstration. With IntelliKits, they can experiment, ask questions, and see what happens when they change their designs. We'll keep bringing these activities to future community events.
